Malawi claimed on Sunday that playing indoors could have been a factor in Saturday night's hefty loss to the Silver Ferns in the opener of the World Championships in Waitakere.
The Ferns won the match 85-26, completely outplaying the 'Queens' in all areas of the game.
Malawi captain Peace Chawinga said her side didn't play their normal game and she is struggling to find the reasons why.
She said it may have been the indoor court as they are used to playing outside.
New Zealand has Sunday off before meeting Wales on Monday
Sunday's first game is between South Africa and Malaysia, while later tournament favourites Australia take on Samoa
