Malawi President Bingu wa Mutharika’s administration in quest to paralyze the country’s opposition parties earlier today ordered 'State Instruments for Democracy Destruction' to intimidate Leader of Opposition Honourable John Zenas Ungapake Tembo.
Tembo was questioned under caution at the Malawi Police Headquarters in Area 30 for allegations that government was planning to rig the 2009 general elections hence it has hired rigging experts to handle the exercise.
The article was published in the Daily Times newspaper last week by journalist Mike Chipalasa.
Tembo is reported to have denied the allegations saying the journalist misquoted him when he made a reference to the political turmoil that has engulfed Kenya following vote rigging that cost Raila Odinga of the ODM the presidency.
Mutharika has on several ties sternly warned the country’s opposition parties that “he bites and has teeth”.
The Malawi leader seem to have laid his ‘fangs bare’ ahead of next year’s contest by destabilising the opposition.
