A NURSE from the Capital is helping protect his colleagues in Malawi from Aids and HIV.
Geoff Earl is working to make sure staff at Mzimba District Hospital are routinely provided with gloves and masks to protect them from the disease, which are both common in the African country.
Mr Earl’s latest visit to Malawi led to him talking to the country’s health minister to discuss improving consultation with nurses on health policy.
Mr Earl said: “Nurses are on the frontline in healthcare in every country in the world so it is critical to the success of healthcare systems everywhere that nurses share their expertise with decision makers.”
