LUSAKA, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Plans are underway to create a transfrontier conservation area between Lukusuzi Park in Zambia and Kasungu Park in Malawi, Times of Zambia reported on Saturday.
The newspaper said the governments would development a concept on how the project would be implemented.
Zambia and Malawi signed a memorandum of understanding in 2004to establish a transfrontier between the two countries, enabling tourists from both countries to enter Lukusuzi and Kasungu parks without any difficulties.
Local officials would be visiting chiefs in the areas to explain the whole idea, according to Times of Zambia.
The two governments have pledged that the transfrontier to be set up will benefit local communities in the parks.
