Celtic fans reputation grows in London

Wembley fives Celtic fans reputation took another boost on Saturday as the Wembley Goals Soccer Centre was the location for our first five-a-side tournament away from the Dear Green Place, in aid of needy children in Malawi, served by Glasgow the Caring City.

Local radio covered the story and the Marlow, Buckinghamshire, CSC (Magnificent 7) took home the Trophy after an exciting final against a Rest of the World select.

Participants were asked to donate basic equipment that could be used by a school in Malawi, such as pencils, paper, pads, crayons, chalk, rulers, sharpeners, solar calculators and rucksacks to help kids get to class. The response was as you would expect from Celtic fans.

Over the next couple of weeks we'll consolidate the donations in preparation for shipping. Anyone who wants to add to this is very welcome. Get in touch with Ross, ross@glasgowthecaringcity.com , or email me from the About page.

Well done to all who took part.
