Air Malawi has resumed its direct flights to London Gatwick, under a code sharing agreement with Air Zimbabwe.
Flights will depart London on Saturdays at 6.30pm, arriving in Malawi's capital Lilongwe at 5.30am on Sunday. On the way back, flights will leave Malawi at 10.40pm on Wednesdays, getting back to London at 5.40pm on Thursday.
Air Malawi and Air Tanzania attempted to launch a flight to London late last year but it was cancelled due to problems with local aviation authorities.
However, Air Malawi spokesman Tony Chimpukuso told Malawi's Daily Times newspaper that he was confident that these problems had been sorted out.
"We are now sure of continuous operations from May 30 since patronage was picking up with demand on this route becoming stable," he said.
