The Catholic University of Malawi opened in 2006 to students and staff of all faiths and respects freedom of thought and expression within the Catholic ethos. A new library is being built on the site which will sit 150 students. During the transition, the University has converted one lecture room into a temporary library.
Here’s where you come in.
To be considered for this exciting role you will be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to:
* Supervise the daily running of the University Library
* Set up a digital catalogue
* Formulate and implement a staff development plan of the University Library staff
* Arrange for e-journal access
* Facilitate book procurement
* Coordinate fundraising activities relating to the University Library
* Arrange book exchange programs
Library and Information Science Lecturer - Malawi
Are you passionate about librarianship and information science?
How about training others in these vital fields in a developing country context?
Mzuzu University in Malawi is looking to appoint a lecturer in Library and Information Science. Mzuzu is a relatively new university in Malawi with enormous potential to enhance Malawi's human resource needs in a spectrum of professional sectors.
In this role you will teach academic courses in Library and Information Science and supervise research students' projects with an overall objective of improving the level of library skills available in Malawi.
The successful candidate must have:
* Degree in Library and Information Science (or a related field)
* Experience in teaching in this field
* Experience in undertaking or managing research projects
