UDF is Jobvuyalema

Rallies and campaigns by the disgruntled UDF chairperson around the country have shown that the steam is low and the support has dwindled tremendously. The hard core Executive members are just a display on entourage that enjoys the free publicity of being in the lime light with Muluzi but in essence, it is just a cosmetic dress up for fear of being shipped out of the UDF boat before the 2009 elections.

Unfortunately, Muluzi has lost support from his main inner cycle group after adopting the children in wilderness Gwanda Chakuwamba and Kamlepo Kaluwa into his main display list after iron sheets, Maluwa soap and eggs. Surprisingly he does not add maize, fertilizer or rice on his least because he horribly failed in this area where the current government has achieved in the development of the holistic agricultural sector. The inner cycle information has revealed that majority of the MPs in the UDF regret not joining the DPP.

The war of destroying the UDF does not lie in the hands of the DPP but Muluzi and the UDF leadership as they are busy destroying it to the last stretch of an elastic and dishing out insults on the podium as though they are in fashion. Tussling and jilting in repositioning to lead the semi defunct one man show party has adopted the Chichewa name of Jobvuyalema [tired elephant]. Human beings like Stambuli, Gerald Mponda have been made sacrificial lambs on the altar of the UDF as decoys of the ‘free to speak’ agencies who castigate the government that pays their daily bread as MPs. The sad part of it is: they have lost much needed credibility in their constituencies to win elections come 2009.

The embarrassing factor is that Muluzi bedding with Tembo [MCP chairperson] in a bid to rally in support of Atupele Muluzi as the next President and Tembo the deputy whilst dumping the estranged Chilumpa in a lag. The logic of the Chase is quite out dated and the crumbling of the cake is just clear.

The cosmetic make up of the strength of the UDF is temporary and getting tattered like an old summer curtain of 2007, the true colours of the collapse of the UDF is eminent when the voices of the leaders within that party will be reflected through and through as they burp up their anger and frustration through media and corridors of power. The adopted Chakuwamba will be enjoying his pension loot with bonuses of accompanying Muluzi and farming in the Nsanje come next year, Kamlepo settling in business after the free ride with Muluzi with incentives whilst the impoverished Mps and the executives of UDF contesting against each other to take over the whimpering leadership of the South regionalised party of Muluzi.

Atupele unfortunately is still young to take the reins of the presidency according to the constitution of the Republic of Malawi unless they change his age as was the case in many instances when they corrupted numerous government officials during their regime.

Rest in peace UDF.
